Australia-Windies T20 series postponed

Sports Desk: Cricket Australia has finally confirmed that the Australia-West Indies T20 series will not take place in October. The series was supposed to take place in early October. But it was postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The West Indies Cricket Board has accepted plans to suspend Cricket Australia’s series. The matches were scheduled for October 4, 6 and 9 in Chaunsville, Cairns and Gold Coast. The series was to be played as a warm-up match for the ICC T20 World Cup. But the ICC has already postponed the World Cup.
Cricket Australia said in their official statement that the series was planned just before the T20 World Cup warm-up match. But the World Cup has been postponed which will be in 2021 or 2022. That’s why we decided to postpone this series.

A few days ago, the International Cricket Council announced its decision to host the T20 World Cup. It was certain that it would not happen this year. But it is not yet clear when. Taran is scheduled to host the 2021 T20 World Cup in India. It will not be postponed to 2022. It is still under discussion that the Australia World Cup will be held in 2022.

Under these circumstances, Australia may play a series of three ODIs and three T20I matches against England in September.

The West Indies, on the other hand, have recently played in a bio-secure environment in England. England played a three-match Test series there. With this series, international cricket started in the later period of Covid-19.

Earlier, Cricket Australia canceled the ODI series against Zimbabwe. Which was supposed to start from Sunday.
